Summary: An ancient and terrible dragon slumbers in the form of an old man working at the corner liquor store. Owen wakes him up. A dark fairytale.
ica's verdict: This fic took me a bit by surprise. The main chara is a grumpy old man and he is really well written like the old and ancient dragon that he is. The plot itself seems a little too thin and could've been elaborated on more, basically filling out the space around the old man to bring a bit more substance to the fic. A very interesting story and I'm looking forward to more of it. 7.5/10

Summary: My job at Melissa Anderten Gallery was hard enough without the input of the most annoying photographer on the planet. God, I hate that guy.
ica's verdict: Nothing special about this fic actually but I liked the premise enough. It's a nice romance story but no drama really. What could've made this story stand out a bit more is if the author had expanded their love-hate-relationship at the beginning. It's a shame really because the two main charas seemed perfect for that. It's OK for what it is but it could've been (much) better. 5.5/10
Specter's Gamble by Katya Dee
Summary: Desmond is an assassin who is on the top of the list when it comes to his line of work. He is the one people would call in dire need to get rid of someone; he is one of the best. One night, however, Desmond meets his match...
Warning: violence
ica's verdict: Desmond is a great character and so is Gabriel. Proper round characters with good development and good chara dynamics. The linear story is exciting enough, and the relatively extensive flashbacks don't disrupt the flow of the story at all. However, what I'm missing here is the budding romance. There are no hints of attraction between the two, which is really too bad because it'd have been easy to add the dangerous kind of desire and lust, a game of temptation and seduction between them. The plot itself is complete but it leaves enough room to continue it, which I do encourage especially because there is a whole plotline with the Guardians that is not properly explained or developed. A good read for inbetween though. 6.5/10
Btw, I'm well aware of Blue_GhostGhost's "Juicy Fruit" that's been rec'd by a lot of people but honestly, the last chapter ruined the whole fic for me. Therefore I've decided that I won't put it on my list. Feel free to read it though if you're interested.
