Been reading so much lately and I think it's only appropriate to make a proper recommendation list for anyone who is interested =)
Please note that most of these story contain sex scenes, sometimes more graphic than others but I'll mention the sex in my short review if it's sth to write home about XD

Captive Prince by S.U. Pacat PUBLISHED OFFICIALLY BY PENGUIN! Yay! ^o^
Summary: Damen is a warrior hero to his people, and the rightful heir to the throne of Akielos, but when his half brother seizes power, Damen is captured, stripped of his identity, and sent to serve the prince of an enemy nation as a pleasure slave.
Beautiful, manipulative and deadly, his new master Prince Laurent epitomizes the worst of the court at Vere. But in the lethal political web of the Veretian court, nothing is as it seems, and when Damen finds himself caught up in a play for the throne, he must work together with Laurent to survive and save his country.
For Damen, there is just one rule: never, ever reveal his true identity. Because the one man Damen needs is the one man who has more reason to hate him than anyone else...
ica's verdict: A very intriguing story that draws the reader into a world of conflict, violence, and decadence but manages to convey the delicate yet growing bond between the two main characters. High sensual and sexual tension laced with a mix of secrets, deceit, and wavering trust. Kinda like Game of Thrones but with less characters and a more linear storyline. 10/10

I Broke Down by eroburn
Summary: Mark (17) is lost in darkness, with no love and no hope. Hurting himself is the only we he knows to relief his pain. But then he meets Joe, "Adonis" as he calls him. Can Joe save him?
Warning: (self-)abuse, angst, incest (author's note, not mine; so far there hasn't been any), minor under 18
ica's verdict: If you've checked my other recs, you'll know by now that I'm a bit of a sucker for the abused-kid-stories. This fic has caught my eye mainly because of Mark. He's this angry little kid but just as adorable. You just want to hug him and cuddle him and tell him everything's all right. On the other hand, Joe hasn't had too much screentime yet so far but it's apparent that there's more under his jock mask. 7.5/10

Last Pure Human by Twisted Hilarity // AFF - on hiatus
Summary: Kasan, a prince of the feline Kyashin race, is in deep shit. He’s in heat, he needs a consort to help him survive it, and his uncle has locked him away from every available candidate. When he’s offered a small human male at the last moment, he’s quite happy to accept. His new consort, on the other hand, is a little less than pleased with the situation. So what’s a human to do when he finds himself in the bed of a hot, sexed-up alien? We’re about to find out.
ica's verdict: A surprisingly entertaining story, funny and witty. The author presents a whole new world in enough detail to give the readers a proper picture of this sci-fi novel. The many characters are all very well written and despite their alien nature, they grow on you instantly. Hot sex and a steady, exciting plot development complete this fic and make it a very good read. 9/10
Loser by SweetSurrender
Summary: It was a stupid bet, set up by stupid, horny soccer players. Pay or Blow. Winner of the final game of the season gets 300$ or a blow from the loser's girlfriend. But what happens when the loser has neither 300$ or a current girlfriend?
ica's verdict: This is such a wonderful sweet story. A stupid bet that throws two high schoolers into an awkward situation but what develops is literally beyond their grasp. Their stormy relationship and following confusion is very well written. It captures adolescents' bewilderment over their sexuality in an extremely entertaining way. And surprisingly, the sex is really really hot (⌐‿⌐) 9.5/10

Biker Trash by 2rainsong2
Summary: Sold for drugs to a biker by his stepfather after his mother's death Malcolm tries to adjust to being someone's property.
Warning: abuse, minor under 18, slight BDSM
ica's verdict: Intriguing story and with an exceptional setting (at least I haven't read anything related to biker gangs before), written with much care because the author grew up in the biker scene. It's the forceful-top-submissive-bottom scheme but the dynamics work very well here since Malcolm's got a pair for more than just one reason, if you know what I mean *wink*. Malcom is 16 in this story if you're worried about the under-18 note. It's an exciting story with two great main characters and very hot sex. 8.5/10
Blood Red by Cornelia Kingsbridge
Summary: A whoreslave in a gladiator arena trying to hide his untrained sorcery is put in danger when the new gladiator proves to be a beastman captive with magic of his own.
Warning: rape, bestiality
ica's verdict: Most notable about this fic is the sex (no denying here xD). As the story progresses though, the reader gets a glimpse of the characters' thoughts and past, making it a very compelling story with more and more mysteries to be solved. Aedan (the slave) unfortunately couldn't grow on me. I found his decisions and thoughts too irrational. In retrospect, I can't even determine particular character traits about him... If not for him, this fic would've gotten a higher rating. 7.5/10
Broadcasting Signals by S.H. Marr
Summary: An astronomy graduate student keeping late nights in the university observatory discovers a new radio station on the air. Sending messages back to the shy broadcaster seems to be the best way to ease the loneliness.
ica's verdict: A real romantic story, unfortunately, too short =( But it makes you all warm and fuzzy inside x3 7.5/10
Close Protection by Cordelia Kingsbridge
Summary: Jacob Ryder is hired as bodyguard for 18-year-old Luca D'Amato. But Luca's personality and his promiscuous past make his job a lot more difficult than he thought. Danger lies beneath all of it and his attraction to Luca threatens to throw his life into turmoil.
ica's verdict: A suspenseful story, very erotic sex scenes, and a budding romance between two head-strong characters make this one of the more exciting slash reads, with a good amount of action, danger, and suspense. 8/10
Debt Price by Dusk Peterson // ao3
Summary: "He kept his gaze cast below the belt. In the chill cell, sweat was beginning to form now on his neck, running down his back and between his bound wrists. 'Lord,' he said softly, 'I would be glad to pay to you my debt in any way I can.'"
No one would pay his debt price to gain him release from prison. So he sought to pay it himself by offering the only thing he could, his body. But one man would require more.
Convicted of helping to wage a campaign of terror against the lords who oppressed the commoners, the prisoner comes to realize the full implications of what he has done. All of his attempts to mend what he has broken will fail until he meets a young lord whose own struggles have just begun.
Set in an imaginary world based on Renaissance Europe, "Debt Price" takes the reader from the gritty punishments of prison life to the delicately balanced world of a farming estate, showing the slow healing of a prisoner who knows both what it means to be abused, and what it means to be the abuser.
Warning: abuse, violence
ica's verdict: I didn't really plan on rec'ing already published books here but it was once free to read on the internet and I saw this rec'ed somewhere and hunted it down. There is almost no sex in this and plays highly on the emotional level. It is heartbreaking to see the main character's development. A very well written, touching, tragic story. 10/10
Note: It's online again! See ao3 link =) Highly recommend!
Delivered Straight to Your Door by eurytideslhy311
Summary: Andrew didn't know the love of his life was the man he'd been delivering pizzas to for months after the creep had first answered the door with "I love you, can I f*** you?" This wasn't fate. This was because Jason had memorized Drew's work schedule.
ica's verdict: This is unbelievably funny. Jason's very straightforward attempts at getting into Drew's pants is so hilarious to read. The "romance" is refreshing and very entertaining as their relationship progresses. I remember, however, that the plot starts to jump around a bit in the last quarter. Still good to read though. 7/10

Drunk Text by seventhswan
Summary: Gunnar wakes up in his dorm room on a Friday in April and notices three things in rapid succession. The most pressing is a text message that says "God, my ass hurts. I can't even sit down properly. Cheers to you. Coffee @ 1?"
Warning: reverse
ica's verdict: The sex is hot XD and the reverse roles during sex didn't irk me as much as usual (I usually hate it). But other than that, it is a very entertaining fic. Unfortunately, Vance's character fell a bit too flat and the ending feels a bit anticlimactic. 7/10

Forever Ignored by traxie
Summary: In a post-war world, a world destroyed by the older generations, the new generation is considered the Ignored. Colan is one of the Ignored but what happens when he peaks the interest of man feared by the whole city?
Warning: violence, rape, torture
ica's verdict: Not for the weak-minded! The interesting thing about this story is that, while there is definite tension between the two main characters, it hovers over the border between fear-induced tension and sexual tension, leaning more to former. This imo is what makes this story so compelling and engaging. Since the story is told from Colan's point of view, the reader is more or less in a perpetual state of shock just like Colan is. His surroundings are just as much of a mystery to him as to the reader. 8.5/10

Summary: What Preston needed was a Christmas miracle. Was his boss's offer of a marriage of convenience heaven-sent or was Preston making a deal with the devil?

In the Company of Shadows by Sonny & Ais
Summary: Years after the bombs of WWIII have changed the physical and political landscape, the Agency ruthlessly works behind the scenes to take down rebel groups that threaten the current government. Their goals justify all means. Hsin Liu Vega (Sin) is their most efficient and deadly assassin ever. However, he tends to go off on unauthorized killing sprees and somehow his assigned partners all end up dead under suspicious circumstances. That is why the Agency has had him locked up in a box on the fourth floor for years. But now they think it is time to put the psychopath back in the field. With a new partner.
Boyd's mother, a high ranking Agency official, volunteers her teenage son for the position. Boyd is not afraid of death. In fact, his life has been such an endless cycle of apathy and despair for the last few years that he'd welcome it.
Can these two broken men form an efficient partnership? Can they learn to trust anyone, let alone each other? Sin doesn't give a fuck about the Agency, or the androgynous boy who holds the remote to the shock collar that is supposed to control him.
On the other hand, Boyd is strangely unafraid of the man everyone calls 'monster' and Sin seems reluctant to let his keeper get himself killed on any missions. Yet.
Warning: violence
ica's verdict: One of the best stories I've read so far. The authors manage to picture a dark world after a possible WWIII and place the most interesting and intriguing characters into it. Places, thoughts, and actions are described in great detail and instantly suck the readers into it. The delicate relationship between Hsin and Boyd is engaging and enables their individual personalities to develop as the story progresses. Life at the Agency is riddled with mistrust, betrayal, fear, and frustration, but also brings out happiness, friendship, love and affection, hope, and trust as bonds are forged and created.
It's a fantastic read but I only recommend it to mature audiences as there is a lot of violence but also very graphic (hot and steamy XD) sex, both straight and gay. Sonny & Ais drop subtle hints at Hsin's and Boyd's relationship some of which I only noticed when I re-read the story. Absolutely great writing! 10/10

Summary: Emo techie meets MD, but not all is as it seems.
Warning: reverse
ica's verdict: Surprisingly ... corny? If I didn't like Dylan, the emo techie, I probably wouldn't rec this. But it's actually really cute if you overlook John's romantic antics. Endearing and fun to read, the ending seems quite rushed however. A few plot points should've been worked out more. 6.5/10

Mafia Runner by Beautifully Shattered
Summary: Afton is at the point in his life where he faces constant barriers in his path of finding his own identity. Not only does he have to push past his parents' expectations, but he has to deal with the unwavering attention of a Mafia underboss.
ica's verdict: Very good and funny story revolving around the Italian mafia in New Jersey. Remarkable about this fic is the two main characters' relationship and their verbal exchanges. Very good for laughs. However, the plot itself lacks a bit of a showdown, or since it's still not complete, a build-up to a proper showdown. The revelations near the end are quite far-fetched and not nearly as impactful as maybe intended. 6.5/10

Pain and... Pain? by traxie
Summary: Jason is a seventeen-year-old kid living with his dad whose only interest in his son is how to make money with him. You think dog fighting is cruel?
Warning: abuse, rape, violence, minor under 18
ica's verdict: Not for the weak-minded! You'd think what happens in the story is complete bs but the author manages to show a not so unlikely picture of such circumstances. While Jason is sympathetic, he lacks a bit in personality (which is possibly also because he has long resigned to his fate) compared to later characters that the author has written. Still, it is an emotional story with interesting plot points. 7/10

Summary: A gay man recently broken up with his boyfriend of 10 years meets a single father. Strangely, they find themselves attracted to each other but many obstacles are standing in their way.
ica's verdict: A sweet story, depicting a realistic setting of a homosexual relationship with all confrontations from family and society. It's a good read for inbetween. Enough drama to keep reading but not too much to feel depressed XD 7/10
Secrets Hidden in Silence by Rayne Auster
Summary: My name is Dimitri and I am mute, by choice. Silent to hide a secret black as night, silent to hide the taint upon my soul, the taint left by a serial killer.
Warning: angst, trauma
ica's verdict: Definitely one of the more interesting stories with a promising setting and the author actually delivers. It is overall a rather dark fic but manages to lighten up from time to time with some cute, fluff scenes. The main charas' relationship particularly warms the heart. Dimitri's thoughts are well written since they're essential as he is mute. 8/10

Summary: What's a band geek to do when he has a crush on his best friend, fantasies about making out on marimbas, and a nosy sister who bribes him with snickerdoodle cookies? Band sure is wild! Like American Pie Band Camp, only better. Really.
ica's verdict: I'm only recommending this because the main charas are two lovely dorks. I love their conversations and how they interact with each other. It's incredibly cute. However, the story leaves much to be desired. A sort of important storyline is not properly resolved. For that you actually need to read the spin-off story. And at the end of it, the whole plot kind of falls apart. Time skips and inconsistencies give this otherwise good fic a very unsatisfying ending. A generous 6/10

ica's verdict: What an adorable story! The awesome thing about this is that a lot of the team members are so touchy-feely XD Unfortunately, it's a little predictable who the real admirer is but nevertheless, a fun and sort of romantic story. 7/10

Was his boss's offer of a marriage of convenience heaven-sent or was Preston making a deal with the devil?
ica's verdict: A short, light-hearted story which describes an unlikely situation. The romance is sweet with few but very sexy scenes. 8/10

The Band Geek's Dictionary by Ryette

Summary: Andrew expected the worst when his brother’s team found out he was gay. But instead of beatings, he gets kisses, instead of teasing, pet names. He’s their extra mom, their wife. He just has to figure out which one means it when they say ‘I love you.’
ica's verdict: What an adorable story! The awesome thing about this is that a lot of the team members are so touchy-feely XD Unfortunately, it's a little predictable who the real admirer is but nevertheless, a fun and sort of romantic story. 7/10

Summary: Justin Plank is a pathetic gutter rat. In the past, he made the mistake of crossing Tony Torroda, one of the most powerful talent agents in LA. Now, at the brink of failure, he must turn to Tony for help... the last thing he would ever want to do.
ica's verdict: A lot more interesting than I thought it'd be. You cringe a little every time Tony humiliates Justin but Justin is really well written and his attitude is a delight to read. I'm missing a bit more smut and perhaps fluff scenes. 6/10
