I'm not one to cook or bake a lot but in just a few days, I made two things o_O

Apple chips:
Crispy on the outside, juicy and chewy on the inside =)

Banana bread:
I left it in the oven a bit too long but it still turned out very fluffy and juicy in the middle. Very yummy =)

Also I watched the anime film Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki. I was crying 20 minutes in T__T It was a good movie but unfortunately it falls apart in the last 45 minutes =/ I don't think they knew what they should end it with. It seemed disjointed by the end. I would still recommend it though. 3/4 of the movie was very good. It's just the end that was a little bit disappointing. The artwork is fantastic and the animation very fluid, likeable characters. 8/10

Of all Hosoda Mamoru's movies I've watched, I still like Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo the best. Summer Wars unfortunately also disappointed me at the end.

Oh right, I also finished Free ~Eternal Summer~ and Hunter x Hunter (2011). My reviews I wrote for a forum.

Free ~Eternal Summer~
Why? Because why the fuck not XD I've seen the first season and that was uh, underwhelming? Too much focus on their relationships which was very cringeworthy and sappy. This 2nd season, however, was surprisingly good. It actually focused a lot more on swimming. The characters still had their quirks but at least they had legitimate things to worry about which in turn affected their relationships and swimming, thus giving the plot a better development. I have to add though that they went quite overboard with the fan service. Geez, we get that all those pretty boys in half-naked close-ups (mostly in pairs with twinkles in their eyes as they stare at each other *cough*) are great fodder for yaoi fans but jfc, turn that shit down a bit. Even I was embarrassed watching it at times.
It was ok to watch for a high school slice-of-life. 6.5/10

Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Well, this has been a long ride and it was quite enjoyable. For the first dozen or so episodes I had to get used to the happier mood of this reboot. The first series from 1999 felt grittier and darker, which I actually prefer because HxH is pretty damn violent and brutal. It was nice, however, that the pace was faster and they didn't linger too much on the individual arcs with filler eps. What I was most surprised about was the Ant arc because I remember I didn't like that part in the manga at all. Possibly due to the irregular chapter releases back in the days. The anime did a good job with that arc and I even had to shed a tear at the end.
All in all, it was good. We'll see if they're going to adapt the following arc. The manga is on hiatus again and I'm not liking the story so far. It's nice to see Kurapika again but it's weird without Gon or Killua... 7.5/10

So a few days ago I watched the Lego Movie =D Which was pretty damn awesome XD Hilarious and just a ton of fun to watch. The only thing I didn't like too much was the RL scenes. But all in all really awesome (that song is way too catchy). You might need eye bleach after that though because it's Lego. Everything is colourful, the pace is fast, too, lots of action and never a moment too long for a breather. Would definitely watch again =D

And yesterday, I spent 7 hours playing Botanicula, a point-and-click adventure game. It's a cute game, easy to play and has wonderful artwork. I loved the little puzzles. They were smart and fun to figure out =) I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't normally play games but wants to try sth not too demanding but still clever enough to enjoy.

Well well well, look who has dragged itself to the finish line.

Teen Wolf season 4 has finally finished, and I'm quite disappointed with this season.

They brought back a villain from season 1 who didn't get to do much at all, not even at the end. Scott is again pretty bland despite his struggles as alpha. It's disturbing how much sex Malia initiates to distract Stiles. Liam, the new beta, is as a character not really there yet. At times, Kira seemed to be reduced to a damsel in distress and I still wonder why she can't use her electricity/fox fire freely... Derek has the most interesting character development imo. Him turning into a real wolf at the end, like his mom could, came unexpected but it didn't surprise me. It was actually a good move of the writers. This was also the only thing that really appealed to me in the season finale. The whole Braeden/Derek thing still doesn't sit well with me because I still don't feel any chemistry between them. (I can totally do without it. Braeden doesn't exactly contribute to Derek's character development. He fights for his friends because he himself wants to. She basically only provides the weapons.) Lydia had a good development, too. She actively tried to find the murderers or the soon-to-be victims, which was good to see after not doing much in s3B.

As for the whole benefector thing... well, it turned out to be pretty much material for the trash bin because Meredith only instigated the deadpool because she listened to Peter's insane rambling after the Hale fire. And then, even Peter doesn't remember it and is basically just as clueless about the whole thing. It'd have been way more interesting if Peter had actually planned it to get to Scott that way but now it just seems like a meaningless plotline because I'm sure that even without the benefector story, he could've gotten to Kate and struck a deal with her one way or the other to get rid of Scott.

On another note, why did Kate have to abduct Derek again? Clearly, at the end we realize that Derek losing his powers wasn't any of Kate's doing. It was his evolution kicking in at an inopportune time, I'd say. So what did she get from him? And what did it do for her? Nothing, afaik. The object for control turned out to be, well, useless as demonstrated by Liam in the finale. And what actually was her plan the whole time? Just stirring up some trouble in Beacon Hills? I doubt it's getting revenge because otherwise she wouldn't have helped Peter out. He is, after all, the one responsible for her s1 death.

I think of all the plotlines in s4 that can be taken for the whole of TW is Scott making a beta, Derek becoming stronger than ever, Malia's mom being a possibly criminal fugitive, and perhaps you can also count Kate still fucking shit up in.

That's really weak. I don't know what they're going to do with season 5 but I sincerely hope the writers will get a break because the writing has been all over the place for the past 2 seasons. I want a coherent story where the plotlines will actually tie up in the end, I want characters developing properly, and I want them to concentrate on finding the Desert Wolf as the main goal with one single but incredibly dangerous threat. I want them to go back to the simpler times of s1 and s2. GAH.

Enough of TW canon. Time for some quality fanfic time. I'll have to indulge myself with wolf!Derek XD

OMG, how did I NOT see this?!
All season long Derek has not worn his signature leather jacket but in the finale he did BECAUSE

mid-season vs. finale

Last week I started watching Breaking Bad. So far I've finished s1 and it was awesome. I can understand why people love this show so much. Brilliantly written, great characters and intriguing and exciting plot. Bryan Cranston is amazing in this. But so is Aaron Paul.

If this show had been around when I was in school, I'd probably have put more effort into my chemistry class lol. Not because of the drugs, ok? ಠ_ಠ Because science.

I have to start s2 soon but in the meantime, I've started another series which I'll write a little bit about next time when I've finished s1 of that lol.

I've actually taken the time to start Free! s2.

Oh boy, if you think that s1 was already gay, then s2 will hit you with a rainbow sledgehammer. They managed to up the fan service so much that I'm honestly embarrassed watching it... It's like they try really really hard to appeal to the female (fujoshi) audience without actually having gay characters on the show and that makes everything just super weird. Every scene showcasing their muscles (so far in every episode there's been some muscle fetish/kink comment), the incessant blushing, flustered state, twinkling eyes and longing gazes make you scream at your screen for them to get on with the literal fucking.

All in all though, I like the season so far. It's much better than s1. Rin isn't a whiny bitch anymore and the characters harmonise better together. They seem more like characters than stereotypes now, though they still have their individual traits of course. Also, this is a whole lot more about actual swimming and competitions than s1.

An unexpectedly good sequel to a rather weak first season. I hope the rest of s2 won't disappoint though.

*Commie Subs' hilarious tagline XD
