So a few days ago I watched the Lego Movie =D Which was pretty damn awesome XD Hilarious and just a ton of fun to watch. The only thing I didn't like too much was the RL scenes. But all in all really awesome (that song is way too catchy). You might need eye bleach after that though because it's Lego. Everything is colourful, the pace is fast, too, lots of action and never a moment too long for a breather. Would definitely watch again =D

And yesterday, I spent 7 hours playing Botanicula, a point-and-click adventure game. It's a cute game, easy to play and has wonderful artwork. I loved the little puzzles. They were smart and fun to figure out =) I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't normally play games but wants to try sth not too demanding but still clever enough to enjoy.

Our second video is out! Watch, like, share, subscribe and all that stuff XD
Thanks and enjoy!

Benedict Cumberbatch is famous for his odd name - but what does it have to do with Barbados? How do surnames work in Iceland, what do Swedes do about their boring names, and why are almost 40% of all Vietnamese people called Nguyen? We’ll tell you the surprising answers!

Hint: Watch until the very end! ;D

Well well well, look who has dragged itself to the finish line.

Teen Wolf season 4 has finally finished, and I'm quite disappointed with this season.

They brought back a villain from season 1 who didn't get to do much at all, not even at the end. Scott is again pretty bland despite his struggles as alpha. It's disturbing how much sex Malia initiates to distract Stiles. Liam, the new beta, is as a character not really there yet. At times, Kira seemed to be reduced to a damsel in distress and I still wonder why she can't use her electricity/fox fire freely... Derek has the most interesting character development imo. Him turning into a real wolf at the end, like his mom could, came unexpected but it didn't surprise me. It was actually a good move of the writers. This was also the only thing that really appealed to me in the season finale. The whole Braeden/Derek thing still doesn't sit well with me because I still don't feel any chemistry between them. (I can totally do without it. Braeden doesn't exactly contribute to Derek's character development. He fights for his friends because he himself wants to. She basically only provides the weapons.) Lydia had a good development, too. She actively tried to find the murderers or the soon-to-be victims, which was good to see after not doing much in s3B.

As for the whole benefector thing... well, it turned out to be pretty much material for the trash bin because Meredith only instigated the deadpool because she listened to Peter's insane rambling after the Hale fire. And then, even Peter doesn't remember it and is basically just as clueless about the whole thing. It'd have been way more interesting if Peter had actually planned it to get to Scott that way but now it just seems like a meaningless plotline because I'm sure that even without the benefector story, he could've gotten to Kate and struck a deal with her one way or the other to get rid of Scott.

On another note, why did Kate have to abduct Derek again? Clearly, at the end we realize that Derek losing his powers wasn't any of Kate's doing. It was his evolution kicking in at an inopportune time, I'd say. So what did she get from him? And what did it do for her? Nothing, afaik. The object for control turned out to be, well, useless as demonstrated by Liam in the finale. And what actually was her plan the whole time? Just stirring up some trouble in Beacon Hills? I doubt it's getting revenge because otherwise she wouldn't have helped Peter out. He is, after all, the one responsible for her s1 death.

I think of all the plotlines in s4 that can be taken for the whole of TW is Scott making a beta, Derek becoming stronger than ever, Malia's mom being a possibly criminal fugitive, and perhaps you can also count Kate still fucking shit up in.

That's really weak. I don't know what they're going to do with season 5 but I sincerely hope the writers will get a break because the writing has been all over the place for the past 2 seasons. I want a coherent story where the plotlines will actually tie up in the end, I want characters developing properly, and I want them to concentrate on finding the Desert Wolf as the main goal with one single but incredibly dangerous threat. I want them to go back to the simpler times of s1 and s2. GAH.

Enough of TW canon. Time for some quality fanfic time. I'll have to indulge myself with wolf!Derek XD

OMG, how did I NOT see this?!
All season long Derek has not worn his signature leather jacket but in the finale he did BECAUSE

mid-season vs. finale

Well, isn't this just great? Skype has just force-logged me out and refuses to let me log in again unless I upgrade to the latest version.

The reason why I never upgraded beyond 4.2 is because I liked seeing my own profile picture (lots of One Piece pics; definitely not my own face) and also, I very much enjoyed the non-invasive ads that were neither blinking or otherwise obnoxious. But above all, I thought it was a change for the worse when version 5.x came out, all new and shiny: Blocky layout, difficult navigation, and it didn't run as smoothly anymore.

With the latest force-upgrade though, Microsoft isn't making any friends. While I'm sure my computer can handle the newest version, some ppl actually cannot run the newest version. I wonder who thought it was a great idea to disable the older versions and go all dictatorship on the rest of their users.

Not cool, Microsoft, not cool. At all.

I'm considering not upgrading Skype at all and leaving it for dead. I even tried using Skype via Trillian but one look at their developer's blog told me that Microsoft has also disabled the SkypeKit that Trillian has used to implement it in their program. Great.

From what I also gathered, the new Skype takes up a whole lot more memory, has more annoying ads, spies on messages and videos. There's probably more shit about the new version.

If anyone knows of a good alternative with chat AND video, please let me know. Thanks!

What a shame, Skype. You sold your fucking soul when you made that deal with the devil. I wouldn't say that Microsoft is bad, usually. But wow, Skype, M went in dry and fucked you hard. Really. Fucking. Hard.
My friend, we had a good time but you're beyond help now. I sincerely wish it were different but there is nothing I can do but to say goodbye.

Please check it out and subscribe if you'd like. We would be very happy ^o^

Thanks and uh, share? Please? XD

Last week I started watching Breaking Bad. So far I've finished s1 and it was awesome. I can understand why people love this show so much. Brilliantly written, great characters and intriguing and exciting plot. Bryan Cranston is amazing in this. But so is Aaron Paul.

If this show had been around when I was in school, I'd probably have put more effort into my chemistry class lol. Not because of the drugs, ok? ಠ_ಠ Because science.

I have to start s2 soon but in the meantime, I've started another series which I'll write a little bit about next time when I've finished s1 of that lol.

I've actually taken the time to start Free! s2.

Oh boy, if you think that s1 was already gay, then s2 will hit you with a rainbow sledgehammer. They managed to up the fan service so much that I'm honestly embarrassed watching it... It's like they try really really hard to appeal to the female (fujoshi) audience without actually having gay characters on the show and that makes everything just super weird. Every scene showcasing their muscles (so far in every episode there's been some muscle fetish/kink comment), the incessant blushing, flustered state, twinkling eyes and longing gazes make you scream at your screen for them to get on with the literal fucking.

All in all though, I like the season so far. It's much better than s1. Rin isn't a whiny bitch anymore and the characters harmonise better together. They seem more like characters than stereotypes now, though they still have their individual traits of course. Also, this is a whole lot more about actual swimming and competitions than s1.

An unexpectedly good sequel to a rather weak first season. I hope the rest of s2 won't disappoint though.

*Commie Subs' hilarious tagline XD

Have you ever looked into the mirror and checked your face from all angles? Because I did and holy shit, my profile is ugly as fuck (;゚Д゚)
Nobody should ever see me from the side. It's a horrible sight. I knew my face was flat but wow. Thank god I don't have to look at my ugly mug all the time.

Oh well, after exchanging recs with a friend, I've come to the realization that I skipped quite a few popular fics that I personally didn't like enough to put into my list. So I've decided to add another section to my list, the "Honourable Mentions". Also, I cleaned up my archive and dug out a few more fics that could do well among my recs =)

I just did the most nerve-wrecking thing in a long time... resizing the partitions on my computer o_o;

When I set up this computer, I didn't think I needed so much space on the C partition. Boy was I wrong... so with barely 3GB left, I had to resize the partitions to take some space from D: to C:.
In case you ever need to expand your C paritition: Windows 7 (and I assume 8) has a partition tool but, unless you have very little data on it, it's not as useful as it sounds at first because taking space from D: will free up space at the end of the partition. But you need to have the free space between C: and D: - ergo at the beginning of D: - to expand the C: drive. Therefore, I used GParted, a neat little tool that lets you move the freed up space between the partitions and increase the size of your desired partition.

But with stuff like this, there's always a huge warning that you may or may not lose data. The whole process took 6-7 hours that I spent reading fics and sleeping lol. After it was done, though, I tried to exit the linux screen and shut down the computer. Well, it froze. That's when I started to panic. I contacted a friend who's a computer technician, who told me that there was no other way than killing it via power button. I did and the computer rebooted as usual until a black screen came up saying that it needed to check the partitions. I knew about that of course but it was nerve-wrecking, watching the percentage slowly reaching 100 and finally giving me the A-OK.

Doing anything technical on my computer is like defusing a fucking bomb. It makes me nervous, sweaty and shaky, short of biting my nails @_@
It worked fine btw and I didn't lose any data. But I hope I don't have to do this shit again. I really don't want to.

I'm starting to think that I have a serious spider problem here...

I just got out of bed, went to the bathroom and pulled at the toilet paper when suddenly a black blur flitted around the toilet paper holder. It was a good thing that I hadn't started my ... business yet. ANYWAY, this fucker actually ended up hiding IN the holder. But to capture it I had to coax it out of its hiding place. After prodding it and the spider scrabbling into random corners, I finally had it under my glass when it made the mistake of running across the floor.

NSFL: captured spider )

Btw the stuff in the glass is the remains of a gel candle. I'm using the glass purely for bug and spider capturing purposes now.

Instead of getting rid of it by window exit, I actually flushed the fucker down the toilet. Because srsly? You don't fucking surprise me like that in the morning when I'm still sleepy-eyed, bitch.
icassop: (Default)
I'm not afraid of spiders, I just find them really nasty and disgusting, much like any kind of spider and insect; and yes, crabs are also kind of disgusting but also delicious.

So yesterday night I was sitting on my bed knitting and waiting for my hair to dry when a big ass spider walked by nonchalantly and just stopped there right in front of me.

Usually I only have Opiliones in my room which have a small round body and long, thin legs. But this one? This one's body was the size of my finger nail with thick legs. Yuck Dx

I needed to get rid of it. Couldn't let it sit there right in front of my bed and having it crawl up into my comforter. I got a transparent glass and trapped it in it. I didn't want to kill it because really, do I want spider juice on my floor? I also accidently ripped off two of its legs in the process... >_>;  Anyway, I fetched a sturdy piece of paper and slipped it underneath the glass to transport it to my window.

Tip: You should always use a see-through glass or cup to watch it. Don't ever lose sight of your enemy ;)
Second tip: Open the window before you transport the spider over.

So with a quick move I slid the glass along the paper to fling the spider away from me; kinda like how you'd light a match.

And that was my nightly visitor and the adventure of how I saved my beauty sleep XD  What had me worried though was that I wasn't sure where it came from and if there were more of them. I hope this was the only one...

I really, really hate working in design.

Because I have to work on my weekends.

Why does it piss me off now? (It has happened many times before after all.)

Because I just got another job in, today on Saturday at 3:45 PM.
Deadline: of-ucking-course Monday morning.

Another fucked weekend, yay.

The sun is shining AND it's raining. Wonderful! Simply magnificent =D

I actually feel a lot better now after quitting university. I don't know what I'm going to do now but I think I want to finish one of my stories and post them here. Feedback would be nice. If work isn't taking up too much time, I wanna try digital painting again, and I'll also continue programming because that's the only thing that I really really enjoyed a lot (despite being unbearably frustrating at times).

It's good not having to feel like a miserable shit for a change lol
( ¯ー¯·)

Woah, I just noticed that my mood icon indicates sth that I wasn't meaning to o_o;;; I didn't mean Ace-being-dead-peaceful but at-ease-with-oneself-peaceful o_o;;;;

Been having back pains for a few days now because I probably sleep wrongly... I think I need some work outs for my back muscles.

Oh yeah, yesterday, I missed a step, fell down the stairs, tumbled into our bathroom, landed on my back on the floor and bruised my hip and my right foot. Suffice to say, I'm having the worst back aches since forever right now. Way to start the new year -_-

Happy New Year, peeps!
icassop: (Default)
Merry Christmas, happy holidays and a happy New Year, everyone!
Hope you're all doing great these days and got many presents because I didn't D=

Things to look forward to in 2014:
- Sherlock season 3 >0<
- semester break in Feb/Mar
Can't remember anything else, and I don't have any resolutions >_>;

Well, see you around next year, too!
